Phillip Aleshire is a bassoonist who currently attends the University of Denver Lamont School of Music. He is studying for his bachelor’s degree under Martin Kuuskmann. At Lamont, Phillip is a part of multiple ensembles, including the Denver Chamber Orchestra and the Proxyma-B Quintet, who has placed runner up at the school’s annual Lamont Chamber Honors Competition. He has had the privilege of attending summer festivals like Trentino Music Festival, International Chamber Music Academy of Ochsenhausen, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. As a young artist he has frequently collaborated with other young musicians and composers, performing and premiering music from solo work to full orchestral works. He takes pride in his holistic approach to music, not only studying bassoon, but also studying as an opera singer to greatly influence how he performs on stage and interprets music. Phillip currently plans on finishing his degree and preparing for master’s degree auditions.
